Golden Globes – Get the look for less!

Hi Loves!  I’m posting this a little late, but couldn’t resist to still put this out there even if it’s been almost a week since the Golden Globes.  If you my missed my pre-Golden Globes post about how the celebs prep – check that out here.  It’s a good one about how to prep for an event in your own life that you want to look your best for. 🙂

Fashion at the Golden Globes featured a lot of plunging necklines, cold shoulder dresses and embellishments galore!  I always dream of having an event to wear a gorgeous gown to, but sadly my life doesn’t call for that all that often.  But it’s always fun to shop for a fancy dress to have in case something does come up because you just never know, right?  I like to take inspiration from the gowns and find dresses that are actually realistic to wear to an event I might actually find myself at.  So I’ve picked a few of my favorite looks from the star-studded night and found some affordable look-alike options to snag up to add to your closet.

I feel like it’s always better to have something like this on-hand instead of shop last minute before an event because that’s always stressful when you have limited time to find the perfect dress.  Just buy it now and then you’re set for when you’re invited to your next fancy wedding, charity gala event or party where you must be the best dressed lady in the room!

Look Number 1 – Emma Stone

She was a clear winner with her beautiful Valentino gown!  The sparkly stars were the perfect touch and nod to her movie’s “City of Stars” song.  She just looks stunning!

I found two dress options that are very wearable depending on what you love about Emma’s dress.

If you love the lines of the dress and the silver sparkle – try this one for under $100!  You can buy it online at Nordstrom or direct from Lulus.  It’s simple, elegant and will make you feel like a star with the perfect amount of shimmer.

And if you love the plunging neckline and embellishments and want something that makes more of a statement, maybe you’d be a fan of this one that’s on sale now for under $50 from Asos.

Look Number 2 – Mandy Moore

If you’re not watching (and LOVING) This is Us – then you should add it to your list.  It’s a great show!  And I thought Mandy Moore looked absolutely elegant in this dress designed by Naeem Khan at the Golden Globes.

This look alike has the plunging neckline, the capelet feature and the maxi-dress length all for under $40 at Fashion Nova.

I also think this is a good option from Asos on sale for $37 if you love Mandy’s look but looking for a modest neckline and want to show off those legs a little more.  I think this is a classic black dress that looks comfortable, but has that cape feature so it’s still fashion forward.  Perfect for any occasion you need a simple black dress for.

Look Number 3 – Ruth Negga

This custom Louis Vuitton dress is seriously amazing, young & fresh, edgy, attention getting, yet sleek and sophisticated too.  She looked awesome!!!  I want this dress!!!

The first look-alike dress has that bronze/black finish with an edgy pattern that’s sure to be an attention getter.  This one is only $68 from Asos!

The next one has classic lines, an amazing finish to the pewter color and is just gorgeous!  It’s under $100 from Lulus.

And this shorter option is to die for!!!  The pattern is so young and fresh and the lines are very flattering (almost Balmain-like which I’m obsessed with).  I had to include it even though the only thing is has in common with the original is the sequin and an edgy feeling to it.  It’s only $72 from Lulus.

I love shopping for dresses!!!  There is just something about finding the perfect dress to wear to an event, on a trip or for a photoshoot. I think I just love dressing up!  I guess my mom can attest to that – she said I would change my clothes sometimes 5 times a day just for fun when I was little because I was always playing around with different outfits.

So if you have an event that you need a dress for and need some fashion help or suggestions, just message me!  I’d love to look around for something that fits into your repertoire.

And last, I couldn’t end this post without mentioning a few other people who dresses I LOVED at the Golden Globes this year.  🙂  See their pics below!
